THE KNIFE FOR ALL SEASONS

Soon we discovered that Lucas Bullington of Lucas Forge custom makes a full tang knife called the Frontier Clip Point that met all our requirements. http://customhuntingknives.org/.

This hand-made knife has a 3 ½-inch clip point blade, very similar to the 125OT, forged from 80CRV2 high carbon steel. It is a flat grind and has an aged finish. The 4-inch handle is made from fancy curly maple, has a brass-lined lanyard hole and held in place with brass pins. The knife comes with a hand-made leather pouch sheath made by Ike Bullington. The hard part was the 9 month wait once we placed our orders, but the wait was worth it.

Soon after receiving my new knife it made its maiden voyage with me and my sons into the Cohutta Wilderness Area and was used for everything from slicing tomatoes to cleaning fish to cutting tent stakes. The Frontier Clip Point stayed sharp, fit my hand and was up to all task tried. Now the knife has been used for farm chores ranging from opening bags of fertilizer, cutting hay cord to skinning small game and deer. Medrick tested his in Alaska on a salmon fishing trip and on deer butchering and he cannot say enough good about the knife. It seems that Lucas forges a little bit of magic into his knives.
